Roadway Speed Hump Additions

For the first time in Gardens' history, a new roadway feature has been introduced—rubber speed humps! These humps have been strategically placed on Greenway North, Greenway South, and Markwood Road to promote reduced speeds among motorists and enhance neighborhood safety.

Under the guidance of traffic engineering planners from VHB (Vasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc.), five locations were carefully selected for the installation of these speed humps. The installation took place in March 2024, with two humps each on Greenway North and Greenway South, and one on Markwood Road. These locations were chosen following a thorough traffic analysis and data collection period conducted last fall.

Although commonly referred to as "speed bumps," they are officially known as "speed humps" by traffic consultants due to their flattened shape rather than being rounded on top.
