Forest Hills Gardens Clubs/Associations
Celebrations Association of Forest Hills Gardens
The Celebrations Association of Forest Hills Gardens was founded in 1914 to enrich community spirit. The Association, solely through volunteers and private donations, continues the time honored tradition of celebrating two annual events.
In the spring, a Children’s Day Carnival is held on the first Saturday in June on Flagpole Green. We offer a variety of children’s games, amusement rides, contests, raffles and freshly prepared carnival fare. In early winter, volunteers decorate the neighborhood with fresh boughs and colorful bows while children and adults anxiously await the arrival of Santa Claus on his sled each Christmas Eve.
In advance of each celebration, a detailed flyer is mailed to all FH Gardens residents informing them of all the specifics for the upcoming community event. To contact a volunteer or to become a volunteer, please call the Forest Hills Gardens office at 718-268-2420.
Forest Hills Gardens Foundation
The mission of the Forest Hills Gardens Foundation is to sponsor an educational program about the history, design, and preservation of Forest Hills Gardens. The program consists of a lecture series and a website making available photographs, publications, and documentation about the development of Forest Hills Gardens. The Foundation also works with Forest Hills civic associations for the benefit of the Forest Hills community. Additionally, they provide funds for the preservation and restoration of the institutions, parks and buildings within Forest Hills Gardens.

Friends of Station Square, Inc. (FOSS), a registered 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization, is dedicated to the preservation, improvement and beautification of Station Square and its surrounds. Dating from 1992, the group has successfully advocated for repairing and preserving the LIRR station and restoring and improving the landscaping around the station. Members of FOSS have worked with the MTA, LIRR, Forest Hills Gardens Corporation, Community Board 6 and local politicians on a variety of projects. Almost every aspect of Station Square has been enhanced due to the work of FOSS. Accomplishments include the restoration of some lighting in the Square, installation of the (safety) fence along Burns Street and installation of netting to reduce the pigeon population under the trestles. When residents pass through Station Square they are greeted with annual and perennial flowers and trees planted and cared for by FOSS.
Funds for these efforts come from the FOSS membership dues, written appeals and biannual fundraising events. In addition to raising money, the biannual FOSS fundraising event helps bring together members of the community for a very popular social event.

Most meetings take place at the Community House, 15 Borage Place, during the school day. However, the Evening Chapter caters to those members who are unavailable during those hours.
